Formal Terrace

This was our first ever project and a very special one.  Our trusting client asked us to redesign their formal terrace where large formal beds had become congested with tired roses which only bloomed two weeks a year and overgrown box topiary.

We edited the beds, retaining the formality of the low box edging, and adding floral fireworks which would explode with glamorous blooms and structure throughout the seasons.   The pale blue keynote was carefully chosen as our client’s favourite colour.   It is echoed in the delphiniums, irises and salvias which flower throughout the summer.  Bulbs and perennials in greens, mauves and white provide the supporting cast, whilst grasses look good throughout the winter.

Stylish sofas and chairs have transformed the terrace into an elegant space to enjoy the evening sun and admire our planting.
