At a simple level, this spiral mound was a design decision to create a landscape sculpture from unwanted spoil: a sustainable, low cost and elegant solution.

Holistically, its mystic, natural form adds shape and flow to the landscape, rewarding those who curl upwards to its centre with expansive views and time to reflect on the journey. The circularity and scale has enabled different habitats and micro climates to establish, increasing biodiversity and smudging the transition between the ornamental and natural landscape.
